Jaime (Michelle Ryan), while on a mission to rescue an American doctor working in Paraguay, discovers the truth about her bionic lifespan. Miguel Ferrer, Molly Price, Will Yun Lee, Mark Sheppard and Lucy Kate Hale also star.

Dr. Matthew Stevens was always a savant with word games and puzzles, and he was recruited during a 2-year residency at Walter Reed, by the CIA. He may word as a decryptor of coded messages. Dr. Stevens quit the CIA and is now working in Triple Border to atone for his CIA actions by doctoring people who have nothing. Dr. Stevens still does the occassional favor for the CIA, deciphering documents and messages. He has 2 children: Hannah, age six, and Rosie, age four. Mr. Secretary briefs Antonio Pope, who owes the secretary a debt, that Dr. Stevens has been kidnapped by showing him a ransom video on an Iphone. The Secretary discusses someone called 'Smith' and that he wants what Dr. Stevens has. Mr. Secretary comments that the debt will be paid if he handles the situation with Smith. Smith and his fellow terrorists have obtained a flash drive containing all of the records for the bionics project, and they want Dr. Stevens to break the code (not read the contents). Mr. Secretary advises Antonio to take his wife, Jonas's bionic woman, with him into Paraguary in order to get Dr. Stevens. Jaime has a conversion with Jonas, asking where he is with Sarah Corvus. Jonas says he is "handling it", but implies that he doesn't think Jaime is ready yet to meet her again. Antonio tries to pursuage Jonas to move things along, but Jonas put him in his place. The terrorists are holding Dr. Stevens in a 10-story tower block, "Ciudad Del Este", at night. Paraguayan cop Beto Ruiz secretly teams, off the record, with Jaime and Antonio as he believes the terrorists they are after may be involved with a kidnapping he is working on. Antonio and Jaime get caught by the terrorists during an attempted rescue. Both have hoods over their heads and their hands tied behind their backs. Jaime easily turns the tables on the terrorists once they reach the room with Dr. Stevens. When the terrorists are defeated, Antonio is plans to shoot Stevens because of the information he knows, rather than let it fall into enemy hands, but Jaime refuses to let Stevens be shot and knocks Antonio aside and makes a break for freedom with Stevens. Jaime is shot in the shoulder during the rescue, but survives and escapes with Dr. Stevens. The Paraguayan Police are credited with the rescue of Dr. Stevens. In a discussion between Jonas and Mr. Secretary, as they watch a press conference about the incident, Mr. Secretary is upset that Dr. Stevens is alive. Jonas is happy at Jaime's success and reminds him that he advised against putting Jaime on the mission. Will Anthros is still at his father's compound. His father, Anthony, brings him some books and recounts how Will loved H.G. Wells as a boy. Anthros says to Will that he a secret - something he figured out when he was in prison. "Something that's going to change the world". Jae goes to see Sarah Corvus in a holding cell at the Berkut Group's facility. Jae tells her Jonas can help her. Sarah is skeptical, but says if Jae can get proof that Jonas has made advances that he can help her, she might remember where he can find Will Ruth discovers Jae going through various files in her office. Jae says that he knows Jonas has been lying to both Sarah Corvus and himself, and asks why he is being lied to. Ruth says it is because he has a blindspot and that Jonas needs to find Will. Ruth indicates the files reveal that what is left of Sarah is ruthless and psychopathic. She asks Jae if he thinks new parts will fix Sarah, and notes that they are all expendable. Jaime has a dream or memory flashback where Sarah Corvus is on Spartan Bridge holding an unconscious Becca by the neck, one handed, over an 80-foot drop. As Sarah's grip loosens, Jaime screams, Becca slips, and her eyes open....
