About

According the NBC's official site, Sarah Corvus was born in Tacoma, Washington. At the time of her birth, her father, James Corvus, was a captain stationed at Fort Lewis until his presumed death in 1991 in the first Gulf War. His helicopter went down over Southern Iraq, but his body was never recovered. After his death, her mother, Cynthia Corvus moved the family to Lynn, Washington, a small town two hours outside Olympia. There, she went to Brighton Elementary School and Lincoln High School. At the top of her class, Corvus was a popular girl who headed the varsity cheerleading squad and competed in the winter biathlon. It was her skills in marksmanship, a sport her father taught her before his death, that won her a scholarship to the University of Washington.

At the university, Corvus majored in engineering with a minor in biology. She also continued biathlon training and gained fame as a serious contender for the 2002 United States Olympic Biathlon Team. But during an Olympic qualifying round in 2001, she tore her ACL, requiring extensive surgery and terminating her Olympic dreams.

After recovering, Corvus was recruited by the Sykes Group, a private military and security firm. Prized for her marksmanship, they trained her in hand-to-hand combat, communications and stealth maneuvers. On behalf of the firm, she went briefly to Sierra Leone and escorted American diamond traders. In early 2003, she went into Iraq ahead of US forces to protect vital private interests. During a mission in Falluja, Corvus intercepted a rebel attack and rescued Corporal Patrick Shanihan. But while driving back to his base, their jeep hit an IED. She was not injured, but the Corporal lost both his legs and his right arm.

Shortly after the incident, in October 2003, Corvus requested and was granted a month's leave. While on leave, Jonas Bledsoe, contacted Corvus and convinced her to leave the Sykes Group. She volunteered to help the Berkut Group by undergoing a new Bionics procedure meant to enhance the human body beyond its current abilities and endurance. However, the Bionics experiment went horribly wrong. Corvus went rogue in April of 2004. She was missing until August of that same year when she rampaged through the Berkut Group compound, killing most of its inhabitants, including many of the scientists who had experimented on her. Reports indicate that she was killed by her trainer and lover, dying of several gunshot wounds on August 12, 2004.

Enhancements

Sarah's body has several enhanced parts. Both her arms are enhanced and give her a certain extent of super strength. Also, both her legs are bionic, granting her enhanced speed and the ability to jump great lengths. Both her eyes were replaced and have the ability to sense heat and also see very far up close. Sarah has at least one bionic ear, granting her super hearing and the ability to block out other voices to listen to certain ones. She also has the ability to heal rapidly through microscopic machines called anthrocytes that replace part of her blood, and a couple chips in her brain that allow it to communicate with its bionic parts.

Notes

  • As of August 12, 2004, she was presumed dead by the Berkut Group.
  • Sarah stated in the pilot that both her arms and legs, one eye and part of her chest was replaced by the group. Sarah continues that the group only installed one eye because Anthros was unsure about the optical interface, so she did the other eye and part of her chest herself. Sarah does not mention which Anthros, Will or Anthony, she is referring to.
  • It is unknown when Sarah's chest and eye surgeries were performed. Also, it is unlikely that she operated on herself as she claimed, but it is clear that it was not under the supervision of the Berkut Group.
