Bridges was introduced to the family business at a young age. "My grandmother [actor Dorothy Dean Bridges] would line up all of the grandchildren and call out "Happy! Sad! Shocked!" and we would all have to make those expressions," says the actor. Bridges first starring role, at age 12, was opposite his father and grandfather in a Disney television special, "The Thanksgiving Promise," but he didn't get serious about acting until he attended college. "I did a couple of plays, and a director took me aside and said, 'You're an actor'." he says. After a requisite stint waiting tables in New York, Bridges moved back to Hollywood - and was soon cast as what he calls "Uber-jock bastards" in such teen films as "Drive Me Crazy" (1999) and the upcoming "Happy Campers." Charges of nepotism don't worry him. "I can't deny that my family has opened up doors," he says. "But I'm not going to change my name, I am who I am, I'm proud of who I am, and I'm not going to run away from that."
