About

According the NBC's official site, Jonas Bledsoe was born in Chicago, IL. In 1954, shortly after his birth, his father Sean died of a massive coronary. His mother, Denise, remained unmarried and she raised Jonas alone in their home in Winnetka, IL. Jonas began schooling at Crow Island Elementary, proceeding on to attend Washburn Middle School and New Trier High School where he graduated in the top 10% of his class. During high school, Jonas excelled at swimming, leading his team to the state championships, and was known for his sharp debating skills. In his junior and senior years, he hosted a weekly morning radio program showcasing the music of jazz artists such as Lonnie Smith, Les McCann and Bill Doggett.

After graduating high school, Jonas left for West Point Military Academy. He graduated from there in 1975 and was stationed in Saudi Arabia. As civil war in Lebanon got more and more out of hand, Jonas got sent to Beirut as a military observer. Despite his official directive, Bledsoe broke protocol in an ultimately doomed attempt to rescue civilians in the Tel al-Zaatar refugee camp massacre. While he was disciplined for his actions, they caught the eye of General Garrigus. Jonas was reassigned to his detail and swiftly rose through the ranks. By 1987, when Garrigus retired, he held the rank of a Major. Jonas was then assigned to Okinawa, where he saw China's increasing military strength and wrote a report called The New Nuclear Power was largely ignored until after the Berlin Wall fell in 1989.

In 1990, Jonas returned to the USA and was stationed at Fort McNair in Washington, DC. During the Gulf War, one of Jonas's duties was tracking new initiatives in warfare and weaponry, including the use of RPV drones and Navstar GPS. During research of these weapons, Jonas encountered Anthony Anthros, a highly-regarded scientist in the bio-tech engineering field.

By the end of the war, Jonas Bledsoe was a Colonel and headed several reseach initiatives for the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff for the Clinton Administration. As an advisor to the JCOS, Colonel Bledsoe testified before the Senate Committee on technology and new types of warfare. In his testimony, Jonas outlined scenarios for World War Three. Congress and the Pentagon were unprepared for the Colonel's scenario and so Jonas was forced into early retirement. And in the aftermath of 9/11, Jonas's detractors belittled his vision of the future and called him a technological Cassandra, saying that he did not take into account box cutters.

In 2002, Jonas Bledsoe founded the Berkut Group with Anthony Anthros. The purpose of their group was to develop bio-military weapons outside government influence. It was founded as a private company and has unknown sources of funding.
