About
The original Battlestar Galactica aired as a television series in 1978 on ABC. It was relaunched in 1980 on ABC, and again as a mini-series on the Sci Fi Channel in 2003. It became a regular Sci Fi series in 2004. David Eick, creator and executive producer for Bionic Woman, is co-creator of the 2003 Battlestar Galactica television mini-series and the 2004 series. Actress Katee Sackhoff, who plays Sarah Corvus on Bionic Woman, stars as Captain Kara "Starbuck" Thrace in the 2004 series.
The central storyline of Battlestar Galactica is that mankind is at peace, living in advanced colonies in a far-away solar system along with a robotic race called the Cylons, whom are not feared as an enemy. However, the Cylons mount a takeover and destroy all but a number of scattered ships and a single military ship, the Battlestar Galactica. The remaining ships flee together and search for a planet known as Earth, with the Cylons following closely behind.
